Overview

The full picture.

The Kathmandu Valley Loop shows you the real Nepal hiding behind the capital's chaos. Three days of riding through Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park's wilderness, across hilltop temple complexes, and through farming villages that feel decades removed from Thamel.

The loop takes in Shivapuri ridge (2,175m) to the north, drops into the Sundarijal river valley, continues east to Nagarkot for spectacular Himalayan views, and descends through Bhaktapur's terracotta medieval streets back to Kathmandu.

A brilliant warm-up for longer Nepal rides, or a standalone trip for anyone with limited time. No altitude concerns, no permits beyond national park entry, and daily riding distances that leave time to explore.
